What is quality heating?
Three key elements are needed to create gentle, surrounding and comfortable heat in your house:
1. Radiators must use materials with high thermal inertia that gives them the ability to store large amounts of heat and give it off slowly during the day consuming less energy.
2. Radiators must maintain proper hydrometry in your room as systems that do not respect the hydrometry will dry the air and cause discomfort when breathing.
3. Radiators must allow for stable and homogenous temperatures across your rooms.
What different type of heating systems exist?
The main heating systems can be summarized as follows:
1. Inertia electric radiators (such as Heliom™ radiators): These are the best as they combine the 3 key elements to create quality heat. In addition they are easy to install, require no maintenance and, in a well insulated environment, consume less electricity than any other system.
2. Convectors & radiant heaters: Since Jan 1st 2012 Convector radiators are not authorised in many European countries as they consume a lot of electricity. In addition they dry the air and, as they have no inertia, the heat sensation they deliver stops as soon as you switch them off.
3. Air Conditioners for heating: The air they blow creates air displacement, they make noise and dry the air creating discomfort. Air conditioners have no inertia meaning that when you switch them off the temperature of your room will drop very quickly. In very cold weather air conditioners cannot manage to heat properly. Air Conditioners require regular maintenance and filter cleaning to operate properly and take a lot of space in your room. Often in Europe people have air conditioning systems for the cooling in the summer and inertia electric radiators for the winter.
4. Water heaters radiators: Water heater radiators procure nice heat sensation and have high inertia. The inconvenience is they are expensive to install, require a lot of maintenance, and the temperature is difficult to manage throughout the different rooms of the house (all on & all off). Also they are expensive to operate as they consume a lot of energy to heat up the entire water system in the house.
5. Underfloor heating systems: They exist in water and electric versions. They procure nice heat sensation when properly installed but require maintenance as often the heat on the floor is badly controlled and too hot for children or elderly to walk on. They are expensive to install and operate.
What are the benefits of Heliom™ eco-efficient radiators?
Heliom™ radiators are beautiful and easy to install for both new renovations and house improvement projects. They will fill your house with stable, homogenous and confortable heat that will not dry the air or create any discomfort of any sort (noise, air displacement). The high quality materials, thermofluid technology liquid, and high-tech electronics with precision of 0.1 Celsius will reduce the energy needed to heat your house. Each Heliom™ radiator can be controlled individually so you can decide the temperature you want in each room of your house giving you total control over your system.
Can I cover my Heliom™ radiator to dry clothes?
You must not cover your Heliom™ radiator and they cannot be used to dry clothes. If you wish to dry clothes you can consider Heliom™ Towel Warmers.
What is the advised temperature in the House?
The temperature advised is different according to the room in the house. Living room & dining room are comfortable between 18 and 20 Celsius (thermostat setting 3.5 to 4), bathroom between 20 and 22 Celsius (thermostat setting 4 to 4.5 ) and bedroom between 16 and 18 Celsius (thermostat setting 3 to 3.5). Of course these are advised temperatures and you can set the temperature as low or as high as you want. Keep in mind that the higher the temperature the more energy you will consume. Heliom thermostats can regulate the temperature up to 30 Celsius.
How many Heliom™ radiators do I need in my house?
The number of Heliom™ radiators you need will depend on the number of rooms in your house as well as the size of each room. Generally speaking it is good to have at least 100 Watts per square meter. For example, if your master bedroom is 20 sqm then you need a 2000W Heliom™ radiator and if your living room is 30 sqm then you need 2 1500W Heliom™ radiators. Don't hesitate to contact us for advise on choosing the right products for your house.
Do Heliom™ radiators consume a lot of electricity?
Heliom™ radiators are eco-efficient. Your electric consumption will depend primarily on the insulation you have in your house (double glaze windows, curtains, wall insulation, etc.) as well as the temperature settings you use on Heliom™ electronic thermostat. In the same conditions (same insulation and temperature) Heliom™ radiators will consume less than any other heating system such as air conditioning, convectors, water radiators and underfloor systems.
How does Heliom™ electronic thermostat work?
Heliom™ thermostats continuously check the temperature of the room and compares that with the temperature setting you require. The thermostat has an extreme precision of 0.1 Celsius ensuring that the temperature remains stable in the room and that no energy is wasted.
You can set the temperature in each room (see above advised room temperatures) and once you have set the temperature you want on each radiator for each room you should not touch the temperature setting anymore and the radiator will operate automatically as needed guided by its internal software program.
Several programs are available on the thermostat for even better control (see user manual for details on each program). Generally speaking, in order to reduce the energy consumption of the radiators, it is advised to switch from Comfort Mode to Eco Mode when you are not in your house (like during the day when you are at work for example). Switching from Comfort mode to Eco Mode will decrease the temperature automatically when you are away. When you return home simply switch back to Comfort Mode for the temperature to rise quickly to your desired setting. Unless you are away for several days, do not switch off your Heliom™radiators as you will consume more energy than switching to Eco mode.
Are Heliom™ radiators easy to install?

What are the best type of heating systems for bathrooms and kitchen?
1. Electric Towel warmers are easy to install, operate and maintain. They procure gentle and surrounding heat throughout the year and allow to dry your towels and clothes. They are present in households all over Europe for their convenience and comfort.
2. Water system towel warmers procures very nice heat but require your house to be equipped with a water heating system which is expensive to install and requires regular maintenance. In the summer when your heating system is off you cannot use your towel warmer to dry your towels or clothes and have no source of heat in mid season (Spring & Autumn).
3. Underfloor heating (electric and water versions) have benefits as described above but cannot heat and dry towels and clothes throughout the year.
4. Overhead infrared lamps are a very aggressive heat source with no inertia.
